AN APPEAL FOR HELP
To our Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Peace!
Since my installation last year as the third Bishop of the Diocese of San Jose, Nueva Ecija, it has been my desire to serve God’s people entrusted to my care in the best way I can. My diocese is poor and belongs to the rural part of the Luzon island. Majority of our Catholic populace rely primarily on farming livelihood which is, most of the time, affected by storms in our tropical country. This is the reason why most of our parish churches are poor and find it hard to make both ends meet in their daily operations. Because of the meager resources of the diocese, it is very difficult to support and sustain our evangelization as well as the diverse pastoral programs for the faithful, religious and clergy.
May I therefore appeal to your generosity in helping our diocese in all our pastoral endeavors? Any financial assistance you can donate will support the following programs: catechetical formation, ongoing formation of the clergy, religious and laity; clergy health needs; education of seminarians; vocation promotion; organizing indigenous communities; renovation and maintenance of pastoral centers; youth ministry; subsidy for poor parishes and many others.
No amount is too small for those who give with all their heart. Your contribution will truly go a long way in our task to be of service to the church. Be assured that you are always remembered in our prayers and the sacrifice of the mass we offer each day.
