BEGINNINGS
The Santo Niño De Puncan Quasi Parish is the newest addition to the Diocese of San Jose. Before it was established as a quasi parish in May 4, 2006 by Most. Rev. Mylo Hubert C. Vergara, Bishop of Diocese of San Jose, it belonged to the Parish of St. Nicholas De Tolentine, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija. The administration is given to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and Rev. Fr. Sesinando “Jun” Cajucom is the first pastor assigned to take care the spiritual needs of the parish.
TERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES
The Quasi Parish is composed of 6 Barangays namely: Puncan, Joson (Digdig), Piut, Putlan, Minuli, and Capintalan which are all located in Maharlika highway and 40 kilometers long.
ADMINISTRATION
The administration is given to the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and Rev. Fr. Sesinando “Jun” Cajucom is the first pastor assigned to take care the spiritual needs of the parish.
The different organizations of the quasi parish are: Apostolado ng Panalangin, FAMILIA, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Ministry of the Word, Collectors, Mother Butler’s Guild, Knights of the Altar, and the Parish Youth Ministry. The tribal apostolate of the diocese is also felt by the indigenous people of the parish which are the Kankanaye and Kalanguya tribes. This apostolate is being undertaken by the Canossian sisters.
